The Author’s Why

Author

I was encouraged to write about the “Why” behind this website and what I hope it will accomplish.

Hi, my name is Clyde Ching, I grew up in Hawaii and was a surfer living close to the North Shore of Oahu. I was blessed and thankful to have enjoyed the surfer lifestyle and attitude. I still do, but now live in the landlocked Dallas area with 3 surfboards, but happy and honored to surf the living waters and ride the wave of truth with Jesus.

The “Why” begins with my heart for Jesus, His children and for the next generation. God sent me to Texas to work a few years in the children ministry, student ministry, hot summer camps for His purpose and my knowledge. I’m also involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and have come to realize how much our children need to develop a relationship with Jesus and start getting deeply rooted, even at a very young age.

I believe God’s top priority is our devotion to His children. It is the duty of the families, churches, christian youth organizations and christians to help and serve our children in His ways. The future generations of His children depend on it and the word of God instructs us to do it. Let’s be in the Lord’s Army to serve and fight for His just cause.

More than ever I believe our children and youth need our help. We are living in a world where there are many voices and graphics competing for their hearts, minds, and lives. Scripture reminds us that our struggle is not not only against what we can see is evil, but against the powers and principalities of the world. The enemy seeks to deceive, discourage, divide, and pull people away from God and it starts at an early age. This is war, a battle for our children.

That is why I believe a true relationship with Jesus Christ matters more than ever, especially our young. Jesus has already won the victory. He came, died for us, rose again, and offers us salvation and new life. But we still have to fight for the victory that He has accomplished for us. Jesus said it won’t be easy, unless we dedicate our lives to Him. We are called to take up arms and fight the good fight with the word of God, our sword.

My concern for the next generation is not simply based on what I see around me. Christian research has consistently pointed to a significant majority of young people disengaging from church and Christianity as they grow into adulthood. Every new generation is worst off then the previous. Some eventually return, but not enough. I believe we need to be more aggressive with our battle plans and change the narrative.

My desire is that our children would become so rooted in Christ that they would have a foundation to stand on when the world with it’s storms of life come. This website was inspired as a plan that would be cool and fun, not a plan to fight people, but a plan to help families and disciples stand firmly in the truth of God’s Word. The heart of that vision comes from Psalm 78:1–7, where God’s people are instructed to teach His legacy and His truth to the next generation, so even children unborn may know Him and place their hope in God. In turn creating our family legacy based on God’s legacy.

The goal is not simply to raise children who know about Christianity. It is to help them truly know Jesus. That is why this website includes different ways to learn, grow, serve, and have fun while knowing Jesus Christ.

The Dudical Surf & Club is about surfing the scriptures, the Living Waters and riding the wave of Truth with Jesus. It is a place to encourage people to dive deeper into God’s Word, have a club to encourage and meet with each other. Even individually to discover who Jesus is, and grow with your relationship with Him. The Collective is there for you, please use it.

The Disciple, Steward & Servant Collective is designed to help believers learn the Gospel and systematic theology while becoming better disciples, stewards, and servants of Jesus. My hope is that what people learn will not simply remain in their heads, but will become part of their everyday life with Jesus. Parents are a huge part of children learning Jesus and getting rooted. Don’t be afraid, be bold and learn with your children, encourage them, take the time and effort. We have a Parents section in Literature to help, use that and/or be creative too.

Along the way, God inspired me to do things I never imagined I would do. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I wrote a children’s book, The Adventures of the Dudicals, and another book, Jesus the Coat. I also inspired to write and help produce three songs to enjoy and hopefully inspire. These were things I had never done before, but I stepped out in faith, trusting God to use whatever He gave me.

I want families to be strengthened. I want children to be rooted in God’s Word. I want young people to know that they have a Savior who loves them and has already overcome the world. I want believers to grow deeper in their understanding of God through Scripture and theology. And I want disciples to become good stewards and servants who bear good fruit.

All of these things have one purpose: to help people strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ and live for Him. This mission is also an extension of something I have been doing for many years.

For 23 years, I founded and served through a non-profit corporation called Kids In Community Service (KICS). KICS was created to help young people serve their communities, become disciples, be examples to others, and learn what it means to serve Jesus, while producing good fruit.

Over the years, we organized community service projects and even put on puppet shows for the little ones. Through those experiences, I saw again and again how important it is to give young people opportunities not only to hear about serving, but to actually serve.

A Business With a Purpose

The parent company behind all this is: Ninety Ten Productions.

Ninety Ten Productions is a for-profit company, and I want to build a successful business with integrity, good stewardship, and a desire to bless others.

But there is a deeper meaning behind the name Ninety Ten. The name represents a vision I have for the future: to someday be able to give 90% back and run the business with 10%. It is a goal that I hope God will allow us to grow into, giving back to our youth, support churches, help organizations, communities, create opportunities, and invest in the Godly things that make a difference for the next generation. Jesus said in Revelation, “ I counsel you to buy gold from me, so that you may become rich.” I take it to mean rich in spirit and heaven, by doing His good works.

The ultimate measure of success isn’t simply how much we can make. It is how much good we can do with what we have been entrusted with. I want Ninety Ten Productions to be a business to be an example of what a Christian based company can do for others by investing in God. We have a store called, “God’s Treasure Chest” coming soon.

That’s why the vision of Ninety Ten Productions is so important to me. We appreciate any support. Thank you!
